4K or HD with outstanding image quality

A large 20 megapixel Exmor type 1.0 CMOS sensor delivers amazing image quality in 4K (3840×2160) or Full-HD at 50Mbps. The 1.0 sensor is brighter, has higher resolution and offers more bokeh with less depth of field. It is approximately the same size as a 16mm video frame and the main advantage of this large size is its low noise level and less blurring, because it increases the amount of light reaching the sensor, which provides sharp and stable images even in dark scenes with minimum illumination of 1.7 lux. It also makes a surprising bokeh possible, allowing you to focus on what you want to show and blur the rest of the image.

The default look of the NX200 uses an innovative gamma curve, specifically developed to produce bright, deep colors with precision. Incredibly realistic skin tones are obtained. The NX200 has six Picture Profile settings, which can be individually customised to suit each need.

Sony Lens G, with 24x sharp image zoom (FHD)

A fixed 29mm wide-angle lens with 12x optical zoom makes it easy to capture even the largest landscape scene, while offering excellent clarity and sharpness. This maximizes the performance of the large sensor. The G Lens is an original Sony camera lens, designed and manufactured to meet the highest standards of optical performance. In addition, it offers the capability to zoom in on the farthest scenes with the help of Sony’s advanced Sharp Image Zoom function. When you’ve zoomed in at the maximum optical magnification level of 12x, By Pixel Super Resolution technology is able to magnify the image – 150% more in 4K and 200% in HD – while preserving image quality. You can also double the zoom performance at any point up to 24x with a digital extender.

The built-in Neutral Density (ND) filter includes positions for Clear, 1/4 (2 stops), 1/16 (4 stops) and 1/64 (6 stops). This makes it easier to get all the benefits of depth of field, even on outdoor daytime recordings, without having to worry about carrying and mounting a separate filter.

Multi-format recording XAVC S 4K 100Mbps, HD and DV

For both 4K and Full-HD production, the XAVC S codec offers amazing image quality, but also workflow flexibility and storage efficiency. Compared to AVCHD, XAVC S captures more detail and less noise thanks to its superior bit rate and is compatible with all major non-linear editors. The NX200 offers the option of recording in HD in AVCHD or DV format to facilitate the integration of content into existing workflows. The NX200 model offers recording frame rates for 25p 4K PAL system only: QFHD 3840×2160 50p, 50i, 25p Full-HD and 50i SD.

To extend recording time and streamline workflow, the NX200 features two memory card slots and supports SDXC and SDHC cards. Sequential mode allows recording to automatically switch from the first to the second memory card when the first card is full, while simultaneous mode makes simultaneous recording on both memory cards possible (e.g. to create an immediate backup version). The NX200’s two start/stop buttons, one on the handle and one on the camcorder body, allow you to start and stop recording independently on different memory cards while recording in “SIMUL” mode
